Genuinely peaceful stay, family inclusive, welcoming and so polite. Very affordable. Comfy beds.
We had a last minute change of circumstances with original booking at different hotel and found flinders to be available and the owners allowed us to check in early for the comfort of my children. They were very courteous. Kitchen facilities, laundry facilities both available. The Thai restaurant that's beside it is delicious, if you take your room key, they give you a discount.
I'd definitely stay here again! Loved it.

Way over priced.
Tiny rooms, very old.
Clean and fresh towels were nice.
The receptionist was very helpful.
She saved giving it a lower score.

Expect budget budget motel. The dated appearance inside and out made it feel old and dirty.
Friendly service at the front counter.
Beds- not so comfy.
Ceiling paint was peeling in the room.
Was concerned about the warning to close the bathroom door whilst the shower was on, as the stream could let off the smoke alarm and there will be a fee for a call out.
Hot water in the shower took forever to come through.
Being a solo traveller I didn't really feel safe just from general vibes of the place.
Super loud hot water plumbing noise did not allow for a sleep in.
Would not recommend this place to stay.

It's a budget motel, so you need to expect a few compromises - old buildings, but mostly refurbished. Some unusual decor - our bathroom tiles were a colourful museum piece from maybe the 1960s. Quieter than you would expect given its location on a main road, and notices on various walls that 'this is not a party motel' encouraged other quests to be quiet - and they were. Good value overall.

Older style but very very clean. Beautiful white towels. Room was warm. Shower was amazing. Owners were so lovely and helpful. The motel is cosy and central to everything. Will visit again.

The rooms are old and dirty. Literally had cockroaches crawling across our face at night. We were also warned that the bathrooms didn’t have proper ventilation and to have close the bathroom door properly when showering otherwise if fire alarms were set off, we would be charged a $1700 call out fire. (Which is highly illegal FYI).
The reception area was the first red flag. It smelled of urine and was decrepid.
The linen looked dirty (covered in someone else’s hair).
What else? A 3am car park brawl.
Hearing absolutely everything through paper thin walls. And I mean everything.
We stayed here for an interstate footy trip and basically were told by a taxi company that we almost didn’t get picked up as it’s known as ‘rent by the hour’ accommodation.
Wasn’t that ‘budget’ in price considering the local caravan park was only $50-80 more and upon inspection, much more sanitary!

I understand that the price reflect the quality of service you receive so I won’t complain about the room facilities, bathroom hot water and accessories etc. But I really have no idea why they arrange a replacement of the mosquito net in front of the door at 6am and break into my room! The receptionists were nice and able to answer most of the questions but it cannot justify such a big mistake. Technically it is a trespassing!

The only good thing I would say is the location. It was just 10 minutes walk from the North Wollongong station and about 15 minutes walk to the beach. There was a bus station next to the motel which is quite convenient. I would recommend only if you have a limited budget and NOT stay with your girlfriend / family.

A one rating is a little harsh but deserved. The room was somewhat dated in appearance and lacked any character what so ever. The 1950s style blanket was a nice touch but surely an update here wouldnt go astray. The bathroom was of size but the warning about the steam setting of the fire alarm was concerning as was being told a fine would be imposed and I was liable for it. Not a great start to our short stay. Would i recommend the motel if asked , Sadly I would not. As for the room tariff, $171, I expected alot better value for money.
My advice would be ,seek alternative accommodation.
