I really enjoyed my recent visits. I had the smashed samosa, eggplant curry, oysters Kirkpatrick and Thai beef salad. Everything was delicious, only wish I could have taken the left overs home. The margaritas are great too!

Unfortunately my son managed to post a review before mine, but if someone at Collegians Wollongong are serious about the welfare of their members, surely the overwhelming reviews by other visitors about management and the lack Customer Service can’t be ignored.
Rather than a family venue, Collegians feels like going to a night club. As soon as visitors arrive, we are greeted by 2 security guards that don’t allow you to sign in or get anywhere near the reception desk.
Yes, our 21yo daughter in law was allowed to enter the venue with the condition that she would not go to the pokies or the bar as she left her ID at home by mistake. Fair enough!
While ordering drinks, the duty manager in the red shirt loudly asked our daughter in law to provide her ID as she got a bit close to the bar while waiting. We indicated that she was a 21yo but she left her ID at home by mistake… her reaction was not only extremely rude but an attitude from an establishment that we have never experienced before.
Duty manager would not stop demanding an answer as to “why she was allowed in?” and “who let her inside the venue?” We asked her please to tone down her voice and let us enjoy our night as our daughter was already embarrassed enough about forgetting her ID at home. Duty manager then picked up her phone and called security.
While we were already having dinner, she came down to the Factory restaurant escorted by her 2 security guards who surrounded our table and stopped our meal to let us know that we lied about her age and that we could only finish our meals and leave the venue immediately. They left our daughter in law in tears at the table and unable to finish off her plate.
Before we could order more drinks, we were approached by 3 waiters who cleaned our table within seconds while the duty manager was waiting nearby. We then decided to leave the table while being escorted out by the duty manager walking right behind us.
This over-the-top behaviour and false sense of empowerment is difficult to process at the time and hard to believe it is still happening here in Australia.
Collegians managed to ruin our dinner but thankfully not our celebration night. Collegians Wollongong never again!

We usually enjoy eating at this restaurant but I have never experienced such disgusting customer experience and I will definitely not be eating here anymore. I highly recommend everyone to stay far away from here. I was with my family and my partner who didn’t have her ID on her (who is 21). The security allowed her to enter under the conditions my partner stayed with my mother. We were then approached by the manager Kiona who was very impolite and interrogating us about how my partner was let in and why she was here. Then followed two security guards after we had sat down telling us to leave once we had eaten as we had lied and she was not to be in here. Throughout the entirety of us eating, we were getting circled by Kiona and the security guards. Extremely unprofessional and unprovoked behaviour. Have also spoken to multiple people who have had similar problems with the management team. I would recommend anyone looking for a nice dinner to eat at surrounding restaurants who are welcoming and professional, I would not waste my time on such a poor and uneducated restaurant.

Small sized Leagues Club... But nicely renovated with an authentic, old world style bar and lush, green walled enclosed courtyard.

They do great daily Lunch Specials for only $8.90 Members / $9.90 Non-members, different deal each day... Grilled Steak & Chips, Lasagna, Chicken Schnitzel, Half Chicken & Chips, Fish & Chips, and everyday Roast Pork & Veg.

They also offer 6 months FREE Membership... So great deals all round! 😉🍻👌

I was very disappointed with the service here if I could give 0 starts I would!

I came in for a work Christmas party im only 17 so when I arrived to made sure to let the staff know I was under 18 knowing I wouldn’t be let in being under age. they said they will get the manager and she’ll talk to you… I have been to other clubs like collegians never have they gotten a manager to speak to me! She told me I needed a person over 25 to walk me in (didn’t really need the manger to tell me that) then she followed me and my work colleague to the table… she tells us your not allowed to sit there, I asked her was there a reason for that? You’re not 18 that’s a restricted area. We went around in circles not at any point in time did she offer a solution! I said all we are asking is if we are able to sit somewhere else or are we best leaving? (Wish we left) She said yeah you can find somewhere but we are booked out..SHE LEFT AND MADE US FIND OUR OWN SPOTS AND DRAG TABLES TOGETHER ALL BECAUSE IM ONLY 17… very very poor service to leave customers to find and organise tables.

After we finally sit down we order food some people on the table order a kids size meal which also comes with a free coupon to get a free soft drink! After eating my dry ass chicken with no sauce or any flavour what so ever and horrible garden salad I go up to the bar…holding the free coupons for SOFT DRINK after waiting what feels like 20 minutes I hand the women my coupons for free soft drink she said to me can I see some ID. I just said I left it on the table (I don’t have ID I’m 17) because what do I need ID for She said I’m unable to serve you because I don’t have id for soft drink!! LIKE WHAT WHY MAKE FREE COUPONS FOR KIDS FOR THEM TO NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE IT I DONT GET IT!! Don’t you pour the soft drink YOURSELF? after all I’m not asking you for alcohol I’m handing you coupons that you SUPPLY!! I felt like I was 5 being baby sat in fact I felt like 5 year old had more freedom then me! JUST A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Anyway don’t really want to come here again with the way I was treated just not great 🙁

I eat out a fair bit, and in all honesty, this was the worst meal that I have had in years. The schnitzel was hard as a rock, and the chips were burnt to a crisp. For 22 dollars, one expects a fairly decent schnitzel meal. You can get 10 times better schnitzel at many of the pubs in the Illawarra, and it is no wonder the place was empty. We won't be going back there in a hurry.
