As a veteran I was told by medical professionals that the mental health ward was a great place to get help. I arrived about 10.30 in the morning and I was so impressed I left before 5pm the same day. Facilities are akin to a prison. Say no more

I have been working on my own personal responsibility or reliability interest in the best way to improve my own Mental Health. It's suddenly a year since the last time I have lived in the Mayo Private Hospital Wesley Wing with under the care of Dr Pollock.

The facilities are all good and adequate as well as the other patients/residents, and nurses.

What I want to impress is the work of Fema one of the psychologists. She is enlightening and also always shows that she cares about more than just the inpatient needs. She has a great interest in the best way to improve upon a wholistic well-being.

I waited 3 months to get in to see the doctor Pollock just to get a phone call to say he won't be in today when I drove over a hour to get there. Now they say they can't get me in for another 4 months. I understand things happen and people can't make it to work but to now have to wait another 4 months is beyond a joke. No wonder people don't get the mental health they need. The service is not out there to help us.

Please do not go near Dr Michael lau, he is just interested in your Money and will act nice to just get your Money. Stay away from him, he will laugh at you and put you down just to keep getting your Money. Stay away from him.

Once again I'm forced to go without medication because of negligence from Dr Christopher pollock. How is this okay this is the 2nd time that this has happened and reception staff are of no help actually laughing on the phone when I called. Absolutely disgusting I'm going to write a formal complaint letter to nsw hccc this is not okay.

Hi Guys
I just wanted to thanks several of your staff members, I had my cataracts done a few days ago by Jimmy George who did a fantastic job, such a lovely man. I was very anxious coming in to have this procedure done but within minutes the staff made me feel calmer especially a lady by the name of Annie, such an efficient nurse, caring, funny and had a great smile, Another young man, and not a bad sort may I add 😉 was Matt what a beautiful nature he had, even held my hand to reassure me and finally my anesthetist, loved his accent, he was firm but caring and made me feel safe, all in all it was a great experience from start to finish even the sandwiches were delicious, thanks again Mayo !!!!

I rang to complain about a two hour wait to see Dr Pollock.
I received a response that they were looking into it and let me know the outcome. That was many month's ago, I have heard nothing back.
I feel if they can charge for missed appointments, then the same should apply for us.
I walked out in disgust, and was informed it was not the first time he that he turned up late.
On his arrival I noticed his attire was not as professional as the other attending Doctors, he seemed to be lacking in self care.
He then stood around chatting with staff.
As I am working on boundaries, and setting appropriate behaviour, I will not tolerate being treated with this lack of respect.

I just wanted to say a HUGE THANKYOU to EVERYONE at the Mayo Hospital! Yesterday my 5yr old daughter had to undergo some pretty big dental surgery, understandably she was very nervous and scared. Every single staff member we came across yesterday, whether they were directly involved with caring for my daughter or just passers by, were absolutely amazing beyond belief. The receptionists were fantastic, the nurses provided the best care, the anaethetists were so amazing at explaining the whole process to both myself and my daughter. The nurses and everyone inside the surgery room were fantastic, watching a child being out under is pretty distressing but seeing the level of care she had in the room with her made it easier for me to step out and allow them to do their job. One of the anaesthetists stroked her forehead while she was going under and the other was down by her ear whispering calming words and reminding her gently of the process and what was happening 😭The recovery nurses really knew what they were doing, she was pretty distressed and confused waking up but they did everything they could to help calm her during that transition. The nurse back at the room was beautiful, they even bandaged her doll so she wouldn’t feel as distressed about the bandage covering Her IV in her hand. The receptionist was so kind throughout the entire process and showed genuine care and made my daughter feel so welcome and more at ease, also putting me at ease once she was under and I was waiting. Like I said, even people who weren’t involved were so amazing and kind to her, we had nurses saying hello beforehand, remarking that she had beautiful singing ❤️ I absolutely recommend Mayo Private Hospital for any needs relating to children, just top quality and care from start to finish. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
