The staff could use some training from the community nurses based out of this hospital, they're amazing, caring people.
However the staff here seem to forget why they're there, to help people. With the exception of the treating Dr & the nurse assisting him who were so nice and respectful, everyone else I found to be either rude or just plain obnoxious. At one point I could hear a group making fun of patients & why they where there. Absolutely disgusting.

Excellent service, I've been there with a bad infection after hours and got antibiotics very quickly, and my wife went in yesterday after a fall and had x-rays done very quickly. Great service to keep you from having to go to Wollongong hospital. Great staff

I'm in rehab and a nurse insisted I be lifting into a bath. I can't walk and at the moment have a broken ankle. This was a week ago.
Now same nurse says that the bath is going to happen again even without my permission. She even thinks I can hear when I can't.
It makes me wonder how she treats dementia patients and the very elderly as I'm 73.
I need to speak to a manager as I want out of here.
They can't force me to do this also I have bed washes every day.
She a smerky smile when she told me about the bath. Last week when they did it I had water spraid on my face up my nose and down the back of my throat. They use a board to slide me into this bath thing.
I want out of here.
If you need rehab don't go there.

I'm a realist. Unless I have a life threatening injury, I expect to wait before I see a doctor. I also accept that is someone comes in to the Casualty Centre with a more serious problem, then s/he will probably see a doctor before me. That is the reality of visiting a Casualty Centre rather than a doctor's surgery. Since moving to the Northern suburbs in the mid 1990s I've visited Bulli Casualty about half a dozen times, the last two visits have been to the new hospital.
My visit to Bulli Hospital's Casualty Department today was, once again, a totally positive experience. Doctor, nurse, and support staff were: professional, friendly, caring and helpful. At no time did I feel that the consultation was being rushed. This is my second visit there in 2 years and I had the same experience last time. 5 stars again.

Horrific !!!
I went to this hospital with a skin infection.
I had two different nurses assess me and give me their opinion.
One said that I needed a swab and that they could do that for me.
When I thanked the nurses for their opinions, but asked for a Doctor, A doctor immediately appeared and stood in the doorway with his arms crossed.
Refusing to enter the room, he assured me I didn't need to repeat any information as he had been listening from the next room and heard everything.
He gave me his opinion, making sure to let me know that "I wasn't going to die from my Infection", and that this hospital was for acute care for people who were about to die, and that there would be no swab taken.
And at that time, I was the only patient on the entire floor.
What a waste of $50 Million dollars of taxpayer money.

While there are many conscientious staff in the aged care unit unfortunately there are those, in senior positions, who are arrogant, ill-mannered, abusive and incompetent in their dealings with both patients and family members.

Only giving this review one star in order to write a review. Doesn’t even deserve one star. I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the disrespect by the senior nurse named ‘Leanne’ in level 2 west. Myself and my Aunty who is in her late 60s and is visually impaired was staying with my mum on a pull out bed brought from home as my mother was dying from cancer. My mother rang for the nurse using the buzzer. Leanne came to the room, was rough on my mum and then said “what do you want” in a disrespectful way, then afterwards nurse Leanne turned to my Aunty and said “turn the buzzer off” in an angry tone, my Aunty, explaining to the nurse that she cannot see the button as she is visually impaired.” The nurse named Leanne then huffed loudly and pushed her way to turn the buzzer off herself. Which completely shocked my family. The attitude and disrespectful behaviour is not acceptable ESPECIALLY when it is in palliative care. My mother was literally dying and our family was treated disgustingly. You have a duty of care and it was not reached. Respect should always be given to staff, patients and patients family, however this was not the case. This nurse made me cry and made the situation worse. Absolutely shameful behaviour and horrible experience and if she is going to be treating patients and their families that way, than she should not be a nurse at all.
