not good facilities, u get in trouble for reporting bullying, teachers are rude and the staff leadership team is very rude. The principal not nice to and they have no money for supporting students because they wasted all their money on the name change

absolutely horrible school, theres barely any support for anyone who doesnt fit in to the classroom environment and the supports they do offer dont provide enough help. they dont do anything to give kids spaces to fit in and throw them to fend for themselves, and wont do anything about the copious amount of bullying theyll get. provides no skills in independent living or about the outside world.

send your kids here and they're going to feel trapped and unable to do anything for themselves the entire time.

Not disability or mental health friendly.

I was unfortunate enough to develop a pretty debilitating chronic illness in the first month of year 7 at Xavier. I have something called IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension) which causes increased intracranial pressure due to an unknown increase in the production of CSF (cerebrospinal fluid). Another name for this illness is pseudotumor cerebri, as the symptoms are extremely similar to that of a brain tumour without said tumour being present. Headaches, nausea, dizziness, tinnitus and vision problems are the physical symptoms I had to and still have to go through and I am being completely honest here when I say I can’t think of a single worse place for someone like me to be.
I was already extremely isolated because of my illness, constantly being in and out of hospital, but Xavier broke me.
Throughout the whole time despite having access to an app where students can freely check their homework and assignments online, my teachers and other staff consistently neglected and/or denied to put resources up for me to be able to complete my work from home. They insisted that instead of my requests to make schoolwork an achievable thing for me, I just come into school more often “that way I’ll understand the material”, as if I had a choice.
If you couldn’t predict the outcome to this absolute failure to teach, I obviously fell behind.
My sibling also occasionally needed a wheelchair due to severe Ehlers Danlos but would always be made to feel guilty for using it, as the staff would make up excuses to deny them the right to use that wheelchair. There were currently no other students in need of a wheelchair by the way. There was no need for them to be so restrictive.
As well as that, when asked to do things like keep the disabled bathroom unlocked and add accessible ramps to some of the inaccessible rooms the school refused the request saying “we don’t really have any students in wheelchairs at the moment”.

For an already pretty awful time in my life, I couldn’t think of a worse place for me to have been then here. Right from the moment things got hard, I lost my value to them and was left to rot. This school stripped away my self worth, something I am still desperately trying to regain back. Even if you aren’t disabled, just remember, it could be you. Illnesses can develop out of thin air. And if this were to happen to you, I doubt that they’d have your back.
