Recently started training at HJJ and it has been a great experience. The team are super friendly and accommodating and Ben really knows his stuff. Fantastic coach!
The general atmosphere and attitudes of those at the gym are exactly what you would hope for, No big egos here.
As someone who went in there knowing absolutely nothing about anything I was very impressed with everybody's eagerness to mentor and to help me pick up the skills needed to progress in my training but more so to ensure I was learning the right way to ensure safe training for myself and others in the gym. Individual safety when training is a big priority here and everyone is very respectful of that.
I would highly recommend this gym to anyone wanting to try BJJ for the first time or to anyone looking for a change.

Was in Bathurst for work so dropped into an open mat at Heywood Jiu Jitsu. Received a very warm welcome, gym was clean/ hygienic, coach was inviting, as were the rest of the crew. Very good range of skill levels with no egos or bad attitudes. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to start training there, or just wanting to drop in.
