I had a absolute best time ever trying the e-foil lesson with Ben @ unhooked water sports. It was was genuinely one of the funnest things I’ve done in the Illawarra. The coaching was spot on & almost felt as though he synced with exactly what I needed to hear/was thinking at the time. Highly recommend the experience 🏄‍♂️🤙

I had a two-day wingfoiling lesson with Ben and couldn’t rate him more highly: very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the sport, patient and supportive. I’m a sports enthusiast and had plenty of different lessons over the years (tennis, swimming, kitesurfing, diving etc…) at both beginner and advanced levels, and I’d say Ben is probably the best teacher I had, as he finds the right balance between teaching you the technical skills, and helping you focus on what really matters. I’ll be back for more lessons for sure!

Just finished a SUP foil coaching session with Ben which was fantastic. Its not an easy sport but it is a lot if fun, Ben was patient and supportive and had a lot of great tips. He tailored the session to our level and I cant wait to get back out there when im not tired to practice what I have learned. A great experience that I will be repeating with follow up coaching sessions

Ben from Unhooked is a top bloke and a very good instructor. He provided me with really great tips and instructions. What also benefited my advancement is the Illawarra lake condiditions. It is a very convenient place for beginners and was definitely worth the drive from Sydney. In the hindsight it might have been even more beneficial had we used Ben's jetski. This would have saved me long minutes of walk of shame.

After talking with staff at Unhooked, who were helping me find a harness (showing me new and second hand options) I told them I was hesitant to take a lesson:
I didn't want to spend an hour talking kite safety on the beach and pay for a body dragging lesson (I had some experience). Their instructor (Ben) told me he wanted to get me kiteBOARDING as much as I did.
I had an amazing lesson with Ben; we talked safety, did a self rescue and some body dragging but spent most of my 3 hour lesson on boarding. He showed me what to avoid doing before I made mistakes and (thanks to his intercom helmet) talked to me about each mistake I did make as to not make them habit. I was cutting upwind with enough time in the lesson to work on transitions. We used great new Ocean Rodeo gear and a super board to learn on.
So glad I took a lesson with Ben through Unhooked Watersports, so stoked to kiteboard!
