Professional, spacious theatre. Change rooms and backstage very accommodating, stage has great room and professional look.
The audience area is clean and spacious, chairs are comfortable, fans work well to keep audiences cool, toilet amenities are nice and clean and accommodating. Entrances and exits are always in good working order.

My husband and I spent a lot of time trying to find a place in Lake Macquarie/the Central Coast to hold our wedding. When we saw the Rathmines Theatre, I was immediately sold. It is in a very private, peaceful and beautiful location. It is honestly a bargain for what it is and can hold up to 200 people. There are a lot of amazing amenities - including multiple bathroom stalls, dressing rooms, a large kitchen and a boiler room. The theatre itself is also beautifully maintained and was a great canvas for us to make our wedding our own. While we did experience some hiccups in trying to book the attached Rathmines local park, Christina was very helpful and flexible with us. She even ensured that someone from her team would be available on the day should we need support. While we did receive a lot of rain, it was still such a beautiful location. The pictures speak for themselves. We would 100% recommend this venue to others who want a more modest yet beautiful wedding (with water front views too, might I add!). There was plenty of space for a coffee and pizza truck too!

Attended an art course there in conjunction with an Art Exhibition.
Multiple Art Courses available during the exhibition - many different types of classes using different media and most were designed to allow beginners, upwards to attend. Also demonstrations held by renowned artists!
Excellent day! Excellent artists teaching and sharing their knowledge.
Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. My class were all very happy with their end result 😁 in Arcrylic Landscape.
I'd highly recommend these workshops as they were very cheap, and it was a great day out with like minded people.
The Art Exhibition was amazing - worth the trip to view the paintings alone!

How sad Lake Macquarie doesn't have a decent performing arts centre. Neither this building nor the one at Warners Bay is suitable for a city boasting a population of over 200k. Most small country towns have better facilities than these.
