Also known as Buddha’s Day, or Buddha’s Birthday, Vesak Day is celebrated this time every year.

The festivities in Freedom Plaza, Cabramatta include the annual bathing of the Buddha. There will be several Lion dance’s performed by Qing Fong Lion Dance Team.

Performance times are 9.30 am, 1-1.30 pm, on Saturday and Sunday.

As a non Buddhist, this is quite an interesting, and colourful display. In my Christian faith, Jesus Christ is Lord. His feet were bathed with the tears of a sinner, Mary Magdalene. He accepted the offering of the repentant sinner. Though we don’t need to wash his feet, or the feet of his servants, he does accept a broken and contrite heart.
