This is a happy, close-knit, and truly international school. As others said, it's a small school with limited resources, but their academic standards are high (higher than some of the most established, prestigious schools in the region in my opinion), and there are ways for kids to stay active and sporty through many after-school activities.

To current families - I cannot emphasize enough that “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”. Unless you need to relocate to another country etc, if you stay with this school it really takes care of your kids and prepares them for life after G8.

My 2 daughters attended UST for 5 years. We were so grateful for the school’s dedicated leadership, awesome teachers and supportive community of international families. It is a smaller school, so it does not have as many resources as larger international schools, but it has grown in its 10 years while maintaining its close-knit feel. As a parent active in the PTA, I also felt I could make a significant impact in my children’s school experience. Above all, my kids were happy, made great friends and loved learning during their time at UST!

UST provided my 2 daughters with possibly the best 2 years of their lives while we lived abroad in Tokyo! I can not say enough nice things about Ms Natasha, Ms Heather and *all* of the staff employeed by UST!

The parents, teachers and welcoming family atmosphere upon our arrival in Japan, and during the duration of our stay, was *phenomenal*. We will forever think fondly of UST and miss it dearly.

As for academics, one of my daughters severely struggled at her school in America. Standardized testing is not for everyone. When she arrived at UST though, she excelled!

I personally feel that both my daughters have learned so much (and beyond) during their time at this school.

If you prefer a nurturing environment with educators who honestly care about your child's development, emotionally and academically, this school is a perfect choice.

Great school. Both my kids are thriving here. The school does a lot for students and working parents. Teachers are great and lot of them have been here for several years, which speaks volumes to me. It is also cheaper than most international schools. Don’t know how they do it but it is worth every penny. Very happy with the school.

This school is NOT accredited by any associations! How are they still a school for so long without any accreditation? How do we know that the school is keeping up with academic standards if no association is actually monitoring their progress? It made it very difficult to transfer my kids out when I moved back to my home country!

This school tries to best serve students' interest both academically and socially. My child has been happy to attend this school. The school is open for comments and discussions from parents to continuously improve educational quality. Although the school does not have IB qualification officially, it seems to me that its education is in line with IB spirits.

This school is a joke. My kid has been going here for three years and still can't read properly. The turn over rate here is ridiculous. Teachers are leaving constantly every year.
