I have been at this academy since 2014, and am still attending. The classes are a great mix of enjoyable, hard and extremely instructive. The atmosphere and community at the dojo is extremely supportive and respectful and the instructors are always willing to help out! My experience at Jayu Martial Arts Academy has shaped me enormously as I have grown up and I would not hesitate to recommend the dojo to anyone, no matter your age. I can not recommend Jayu Martial Arts enough!

I have been going here for 7 or 8 years (give or take) and I have loved it the whole time. Qualified, encouraging and talented instructors help you to build skills of perseverance and commitment, whilst keeping you honest with yourself and building your fitness in a way many other sports and exercises cannot. The self defence skills will last you your whole life. I highly recommend this academy. 🙂

This place is what a family run business is all about. Sir and Ma’am are super passionate and super talented, and every student gets individualised instruction. Such a beautiful community to be a part of, and a bonus that it’s a great way to get fit! Highly recommend Jayu, for all ages and all abilities. I got my own black belt here, and sir and ma’am really made me work for it. They don’t take it easy on you once you enter the advanced classes and won’t hesitate to postpone your graduation if they don’t think you’re ready (which is what happened to me), which just made me getting it all the more satisfying and rewarding.
Everyone there is so supportive and pushes you to your limit, it’s just a very positive space that works to bring out the best in you, both physically and mentally. Even if you go in just to learn to defend yourself, you will come out healthier and a better person.
